Hey all, I Had ALIF fusion 4 months ago on L5-S1, now I have Gallstones, not from my back just great timing.
I for the last couple of months thought my stomach growling and the constipation and diarrhea were just from the meds I had been taking. I just started phys therapy and I can tell my back is getting better. But it seems like my gallbladder wants to take center stage. About a month ago, I felt nauseous really bad on mothers day and started throwing up and could not stop. I took phernagen and ended up going to the ER. 2 days later stay in the hospital, I had a blocked instestine. My abdomen was so inflamed from throwing up, it was hard for me to tell that my right side hurt underneath my ribcage. And getting shooting back pains in my shoulder blades. So to the GI doctor, who even though I had 9 out of 10 symptoms made me wait a week to get a ultra-sound. Then he told me what that I had gall stones. Saw my general surgeon yesterday and he wanted me to go ahead and get a colonoscopy that I planned with the GI doctor to rule out Crohns or anything else. I pray not. Then on this july 4th weekend to take my gallbladder out. We can now figure the gallstone stopped my intestine up.
Its funny I was talking to my sister and she knows all the stuff I have been thru and she was like you have had a BAD year. I think I have.
Anybody else have gallstones? I can't wait to get this over with because its giving me false positives on my back pain and also my general well being. I would feel tons better if my gallbladder didn't hurt and get my back better. Talk about timing. I'm just glad the doctors figured it out in the end. :S
