hi guys an girls, i had an appointment about 5 months ago with physio at hospital, he said he was positive i have fybro but i was in so much pain he only tested a few trigger points and he couldn't carry on as he could see how much pain it was causing me.

fast forward to my app with pain management doc at hosp, he said i've got enough probs with my spine lets not go down that road today ????????

saw my GP he said he doesn't think i've got it but ordered blood tests anyway, results came back that my inflammation levels are all normal, he said its not arthritis but would not do trigger point tests.

he wants the pain doc to deal with it but he wont.
he has suggested i try decompression chamber for oxygen therapy ? anyone tried this ?

i had 4 more steroid facet injections and another epidural 2 weeks ago, they dont seem to have made any difference yet but im still hopeful.
GP has referred me back to hosp for fibro support group but no one is willing to test me for it, how do i get someone to listen to me, i hope i havent got it, got a possible fusion in my future but im trying everything else to avoid it.

thanks for reading this, needed to write it down and let it go

  • Sorry to take so long getting back to you. I'm so sorry you're having such a rough time!

I've never tried the decompression chamber, I don't think that's an option in my area. I've been diagnosed with fibro for over 15 years now, and have tried a lot of the different therapies that are available, but what works best for me seems to be meds and as much exercise as I can take.

Have you tried to see a rheumatologist? They're the best choice for fibromyalgia, both diagnosis and treatment. My rheumy is awesome, he works with me to try to get my pain and sleep within a somewhat normal range.

As far as your PM doc, maybe he didn't want to treat you for fibro without a definitive diagnosis? I was sent to a PM doc who told me that if I believed in fibro, he'd take me to his unicorn farm! I don't go to him any more LOL! Point is, lots of docs still don't believe in fibro, they think these symptoms may be caused by other problems that could be fixed.

I hope you can get in with someone who can help you with this. Sounds like your current docs are on the right path, at least, with trying to test you but not hurt you. In the meantime, feel free to PM me if you want!
