A little background before my actual post. I had surgery June 9th of this yr. Spents 5 days in hospital cuz I developed a temp of 102.4 on the 3rd day. They did tests but found nothing. Temp was gone by next morning. Anyway, I had a fusion at L 5 S 1. I have hardware and a bone. Not sure of the medical terms for all of it though.
When I left the hospital, I left with percocet and valium. I still had alot of pain.
Now to the actual post. LOL I am a little over a month out from surgery. I still have surgical pain. Alot of it is where the incision is. Like where all the hardware is. Now I know everyone has diffrent levels of pain. I definately have a very low tolerance to pain. Right now I am on 1 and a half vicodin every 6hrs PRN and Neurontin 300mgs 3 times a day. Should I be off medication or is it normal to still have pain. Am I being a baby? I can say I was on 2 vicodin every 6hrs but cut down to one and a half. Seems to be ok. I guess I should mention too that about 3 weeks after surgery, I had severe foot and leg pain on the right side. He put me on the Neurontin for that. I still have foot pain. Calf and thigh pain is gone tho.
So did any of u have surgical pain a month after your surgery? How long did your pain last? Am I just being a baby? My family says I complain too much about my pain. I try not to verbalize my pain around my family. LOL
Thanks so much if you read this far. Have a great evening.
