I hope everyone is doing as well as can be expected. It has been some time since I have been active here.
Tomorrow will be 9 months since my 2-level anterior/posterior fusion. For the most part I am doing well and am relatively pain free, as long as I respect my limitations and don't overdo.
I still find it does not take a whole lot for me to start hurting, particularly sitting. I still cannot sit for very long (maybe an hour) before I have to get up and move around. At my last visit with my surgeon, my xrays looked great and he said I was doing good. He told me at that time not to be too hard on myself, but that was at 5 months post-op.
I have worked with computers for years, and now I am not sure if I'll ever be able to go back to doing that kind of work. It is becoming very discouraging. I tried to be patient, hoping it would get better, but it hasn't. I am still on disability. I have, however, recently been able to stop taking narcotic pain medication (yay!), and that was huge for me.
Has anyone else had these issues this far out after surgery, and if so, did it eventually get easier?
