Knot on back

My surgeon isn't sure about the extra knot I have on my back. He's going to send me for X-rays and maybe an MRI next week. I just had a fusion of L 3/4 and L 4/5 about 5 weeks ago. I also had a bone graft and bone stimulator implanted. The one knot he said was from where he closed the incision, but I have another knot that's giving me allot of pain from just below where my bra strap would be to the right of my spine. I had a fractured T 12 that I had Kyphoplasty done in January, and he wants to find out if that could be related. If I have to have an MRI at this early stage, I don't know how I could lay on my back.

  • Wow I hope that it turns out to be something easy to take care of.

Don't worry about the MRI. I had one with L5 snapped in half and they just made certain to hit me with some Demerol before loading me in and had the nurse standing by with another syringe when they pulled me out.

Please communicate your concerns with the doc so that he can make whatever arrangements (orders) that he feels are appropriate to get you through the MRI in one piece.

  • I'll be sure to let them know
