Hi i was after some information i had level 2 ACDF Nov 2008. over the past 2 years ive gradually got worse and i been spending more n more time sleeping n resting with no energy. Thinking while thats probably normal i guess considering the pain i am in. The other day had to go back to doctors to get results of blood tests because of the pain and state i am in well it comes back that now i have an underactive thyriod is this common in a neck trauma and opperation i have been through or are they not connected? does any one know.

  • if they are connected. I have multiple auto immune problems, thyroid being one of them. I was diagnosed with Graves Disease after my last child (Hyper) - went into remission, but when it went out of remission, I had the thyroid radiated, so it is non-working. They had to let me drop into Hypo - and having now experienced both - I did not like the hypo - i couldn't stay awake - my TSH levels were off the charts - they had trouble getting me to regulate and i Kept slipping into Hypo land farther and farther.

my point is - I feel for you - hope that they are able to regulate you soon, to get some energy back. It was horrible, I couldn't get alot done. I run and work at my own business and have an 8 and 10 year old. It was horrible'
