I'm 11 months post op L5-S1 Alif/Plif.10 months in brace and now nearly pain free.Dr. released me with only these restrictions;no roller coasters, horse back riding, 4 wheelers unless they have extra good shocks and use good sense when lifting! I have also reversed my type 2 diabetes in 1 year. I'm off all pain meds and feeling better every day. I am truly blessed. If you are suffering there is hope!I pray for all you spineys everyday! For all you newbies this is a great site! Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

  • So good to hear how you're going, and to be nearly pain free, how good is that !! and what a bonus being able to reverse your diabetes.

You've come through such a lot of surgeries and so good that you can enjoy life even though you've had to modify activities. It takes a while to accept what we can do and be happy and not think back to what we can't.

Wishing you lots of nearly pain free days and happiness.

  • Like Trish.. I am always so happy to see "great" results from the land of spiney surgery and recovery! Thanks for sharing such wonderful news!!! :)

    PCTF C4 - T2, Laminectomies C5, C6 & C7. Severe Palsy left arm/hand.
  • It is nice to hear of a good outcome after such an invasive procedure. I am 5 1\2 months out from a 2 level L4-S1 posterior lumbar fusion with graft. I still have pain everyday and still take pain meds on average of 3 times a day.

I keep saying I am so ready to get my life back. This is the hardest thing I have ever done. I am glad you are doing well. I can only hope that when I am 11 months out I will be doing as well as you.

  • My prayer is all who suffer would find the relief that I have. I wish we were all alike and these treatments helped everyone equally. Sad that it is not the reality. My Dr. said I was looing at a year of recovery and I am of all men most blessed. God Bless!
