Flipping out-Update

Just for an update, I received my MRI results back and apparently I have some bulging at L3-4 and L4-5 which is the place of my two level fusion, as well as epidural fibrosis. The good news is that the bulging discs do not appear to be compressing any nerves. The bad news is that now there is no clear evidence of why I want to chop my leg off. I have an EMG scheduled today. I feel like I am back at that point again when your symptoms don't look good on paper, so you get to suffer and be miserable until something finally looks good on paper to do anything. Last time that took 4 years. I guess my optimism is totally fading. Most days I struggle to make it through the work day and I am just so sick and tired of being this way. I have spent the last several weekends in bed with a heating pad, have missed work, etc. At 35 this just sucks.

Too many injections to count 2004-2010
2008 - bilateral lumbar laminectomy that was supposed to be done at L4-5 but was done at L3-4
2009 - trial of the spinal cord stimulator
2009 injury to where surgery took place, ended up having a two level fusion - L3-L5
2010 - Hardware removal
Currently taking Oxycontin, Norco, valium, baclofen, neurontin, cymbalta

  • >:D< Firstly, Im sending you big hugs as I understand what your going through..

Even after my surgerys I was still having severe pain in one leg and it drove me to the point your at.

I saw a Pain Specialist and he said that even though the scans said I had what appeared to be 'Normal Facet and SI Joints"..After he examined me this was not the case..The pain from where he pressed made me scream and it akes a lot to do that..

Since they have been burning the nerves and injecting the Facet and SI joints its greatly improved.

I would be speaking to my Dr to see if this maybe an option for your leg pain..

Please let me know how you got on with your EMG..
