6 month check - Insurance Query

Ive got my 6 month check up and xray on Monday.
I rang up my insurance company yesterday to get this authorised and they ummed & arrred for ages, agreed to authorise it once I pointed out that I was told I would need check ups for up to a year following my fusion operation.
They then asked me to ask my consultant on monday if I could change over to NHS for the final check up as they wont pay for treatment indefinatly.
Has anyone else had an experience like this in the UK?

  • Reading your first sentence, I thought you must be from the U.K. I've heard other comments about dr. visits, labs, imaging, among other issues.

You are lucky to have received that xray, as I think it is one of the most important times to get one. I you havent started fusing by 6 months, you will have to take the bull by the horns, and make some "requests". Anyway, good for you to have that one behind you. Do you know the statue of your fusion on that 6 month xray????

    Take care, Lisa
  • Hi Lisa
    thanks for the reply

Just got back from my appointment.
Consultant said it seems to be fusing nicely and that he is happy with how its going.
He said he would see me again next March, which wil then be a year on from the op.
Im not sure that Im any the wiser
