Hiya all, I have seen random posts about ppl getting thyroid issues after having cervical spine surgery, specifically ACDF.

I know I am one who also got thryroid issues after and am wondering how common this is, also, how long after surgery did other come to find out they did.

  • I found out at my yearly exam- roughly 2-3 months after my acdf. I still feel exhausted but I think it is from a host of things (lack of sleep, constant upper back pain, pain medication etc) not just the Thyroid. I just re-tested my thyroid last week and increased my meds again. I am now taking 100 mg of Synthroid daily.
