PTX and Vitamin E for prevention of Scar Tissue

Hey guys,

Has anyone tried PTX and/or Vitamin E for Scar Tissue after their fusions, and had successful results. I have just had my second endoscopic Lysis of Adhesion for the extensive scarring around, below, and above my fusion. I know there is a risk of it reforming after this procedure, and am looking for therapies that might halt this from happening.

Any information would be so appreciated. Everyone have a great evening!

  • Causes bleeding if takingly by mouth pre-op and immediately post-op. If you are talking about rubbing Vit. E oil on scars, that's fine.
  • I am a nurse anesthetist, and know all drugs to avoid preop and post op. I am looking for people who have taken Vitamin E explicitly for scar reduction after neurolysis and lysis of adhesions and had good results from its use. I'm referring to long term use of Vitamin E which has been shown to decrease the incidence of recurrence of scar tissue.

    Thanks for your post.

  • Hi Sleeprgirl,

I started a thread on here under chronic pain called scar tissue removal. I've been on PTX off and on since April, and I believe I'm the only that is on it right now that comes to this site. The thread will give you details about all the different methods of scar tissue removal, and my progress.
    Hope it helps,
    Bobbi Jo
