Cyst in S2 area caused by epideral?

Hi. I have been in such pain for almost 2 years after a bloched epideral that hit my siatic nerve. I had an MRI done 8 months previous to giving birth to my son with no traces of a cyst but I did have a gall-stone. After his birth it was so painful and I was told to give it time, 2 months later I had my gall bladder removed. The pain was so unbearable I contributed it to the surgery, my doctor said it was basically in my head or the result of scar tissue-I thought they left something in me. I ended up in the hospital roughly 3 more times before he took me back in to tell me to lose weight, it's a pulled muscle-bed rest. Then the next time he checked to see if it was my ovary and then apendix, he trid for a colonoscoptry...never once did he address my back or any corolation. He finally put me into Physical Therapy which was horrible! I am now pretty much bed ridden and told it is all in my mind...these cysts can't do anything! I am so happy not to be alone, I cry almost every night to be able to play with my kids again and am so angry. Can anyone tell me if these cysts will go away and has anyone else had this link between an epideral and these cysts?? I was 28 and never in any accidents or anything, and yes I'm slightly over weight by like 10 pounds. (5'3,145lbs) I am demanding a back specialist but they continue to tell me it's not that bad...I can't walk, sit, use my right leg, and sweat a lot with the pain. I pray the pain will turn into that burning sensation so it stops or to pass out. Any advice is welcome. (ice helps..lots and lots of ice)

  • Welcome to Spine Health.

    >:D< If I were you I would gather up my records (go to your doctors office or call ahead it may take them a few days and it might cost a small fee) and collect your records. I would then take them to a NEW doctor. Ask your friends, family who they like.

You should have more than one (1) primary doctor on your plan no matter how bad your insurance is :)

When you get to meet your new doctor. Tell him/her straight up- "listen to me please". I have been in excruitaing pain for X amount of months. I need a refferal for a new MRI and a Neurologist/ Pain Manager etc what ever you think is best for you.

Your current primary is obviously not concerned enough as he should be. Mine was the same way when I started with the low back problems. After 17 months of problems I said "either you send me to a NeuroSurgeon or I will find some one who will" she sent me to the right person immediately. When my neck started hurting she didn't hesitate. Now she knows I have real back problems not the ones that are minor muscle spasms.

Good luck- hopefully soon you will be playing with your children again.

  • Thank you. I finally have a date on monday to see a spinal specialist. The doctor fist just wanted to put me back into Physical Therapy but we did end up asking for my records and then he did get me that appointment. Hopefully this time next week I will know more.
