Hello I am new to this site. I have had 4 back surgeries. The last one 21 years ago and I had a 3 level fusion in my low back with 2 plates and 8 screws. Great for all those years no real pain. No one even knew I had any surgery. In Dec. pain in hip and down leg started and has worsen to pain I can not live with. Also Pain in L2 disc area and radiates to chest, arm and shoulder. The disc above my fusion. Doc wants to remove fusion and fix the L2 disc. Does anyone have similar story and what was there outcome. Very active woman in her late 40's. To young to give up on life and have to much living to do! Thank you in advance
for any posts! Take care to all!

I had L5-S1 with no hardware in 1987 then L4-S1 in 1993 ( L5 won't take the pedicle screws). This year I had to do L3-S1 so they removed all my hardware. Adjusted some of my disc spaces (I had straightened out too much and lost my natural curve) so they re-did the whole thing and I now have hardware L3-S1.
