How To Tell The Difference???

How can I tell the difference of the pain I am having between the T-12 Vertebrae, and the surgery pain from a fusion on my L3/4, L 4/5, which I had June 29 of this year? I had a fractured T12 in Nov. of 2009, that took me out of work until now. My pain currently is in the mid-back, just below the bra line, all the way across the back. Thank you for any help you can give. My T-12 fracture is work comp, and the lower lumbar fusion is from 2 ruptured discs.

  • You might want to get a look at a "Dermatome" Map and see which areas correspond to your symptoms. I have issues at the T8/9/10 and my pain radiates all the way around, and too "just" below the bra line. You're only 2 levels lower, so not sure as we are not wired the same as they say.

The L's are more likely to affect the lower back, and the butt/hips/legs and feet if that helps? If you wiggle around your spine (twist), do the symptoms change (better or worse?) My guess is the 'below' the bra line, isn't the L's... Please let us know how it goes. Support *HUG* Just going on my own T and L issues to give 'thoughts' for ya. :)
