SCS and leg spasms due to sciatica

Is it possible that a SCS implant would help with the hideous leg spasms I have in my leg due to sciatica? Already had fusion, laminectomy, and ESIs.

  • I have a stimulator and also get the type of cramps you describe. The stimulator doesn't do much for my cramps. I take baclofen twice a day to keep things at bay. It's not perfect, but is manageable. Earlier this year, my cramps were just off the charts. Turns out that my muscle enzymes were elevated due to me taking lipitor for my cholesterol. Once I ceased taking lipitor (per doctors orders), the cramps slowly returned to their normal state.

  • 90% of my sciatica pain has been relieved by the SCS implant. Nerve pain is gone. Sometimes I have trouble relieving deep aches in buttocks, but am going to see rep again for another program to help it.
