rotated pelvis

socal1ssocal1 Posts: 6
I have a rotated pelvis that is causing me alot of pain. hip joints hurt all the time, and a pinched nerve(s) causing extreme sensitivity on my right thigh, and sacrum area. had an MRI on lumbar, and there is no sign of pinched nerves there. My psoas is so contracted. Chiropractor is doing ART, and Myofacial release, and lots of stretching, no cracking. Any other suggestions of what I can do, or who (what doctor) I could see for help?

Thank you!

  • have you taken anti inflamatories, done physical therapy, or had Si injections? I started there
  • Sorry no info to help, I just read and wanted to add I have a rotated pelvis which I had treated 16 years ago with PT. Now I have a herniated disc and pain where I originally had pain 16 years ago (wondering if disc was bulging way back then). Anyway, I am doing PT for herniated L5-S1 now and PT keeps telling me I have SI joint issues and a tilted pelvis (again).

Hoping someone can shed some light and hopefully some success stories getting back to activity again!
  • I also have problems in my right sacroiliac joint. It is hypermobille joint that needs stabilization. After 2 years my body has still not responded to conservative teatments so I am having an SI fusion at UCLA school of medicine in California. Follow me through my treatment March 26 11.
  • Hi Alison,
I hope you will detail your experience with your SI joint fusion. Since my L5/S1 fusion I've had extreme difficulty walking and it is looking like it is my SI joints that are causing the problem so I am researching my options. Do you know the technique that your surgeon will use?

Any more information that you can share about your symptoms and experience would be very much appreciated.
  • I normally would have replied to your comment asap but, I haven't been visiting this site. Yes, I will share my experience with you but, it will not be on this website. There is a sacroiliac joint dysfunction site on facebook. Go visit that website. I'm a part of that group. It has over 200 members, and everyone has sacroiliac probleme. It's a good place to share information and experiences. My operation will take place next month, March 17, at UCLA medical school through utilizing the SI-BONE technique.
    Sincerely, Alison Pierce
  • Mine is rotated forward. He said the cause is weak ab muscles & wants me to do crunches.

  • my pelvis was always out of whack, despite constant physio. i finally ended up having prolotherapy, which strengthened the tissue surrounding that area. in the six years since then, my pelvis has not been out of alignment. it was the best thing i ever did to resolve that issue.

  • To: Sacl1. Just saw your post from 10/22/10 and hope you're okay now. In 2009, I popped my pelvis during Physical Therapy, of all things. I felt it pop and then began having horrible pain for maybe a total of 7 months - didn't realize that the PT caused it until later. I went to a chiropractor who works on the Colts Football players and he knew immediately what was wrong with me. It probably only took around 4-5 session to get me back into shape. I was beyond thrilled as it was excruciating pain. I even had to take pain pills to get out of bed. Therefore, I hope you have found the 'right' chiropractor.

I am now facing a lumbar Laminectomy Decompression surgery on 2/28 and just found this WONDERFUL website.
  • I was healthy woman until last year.I live in Ireland in a moment.I had low back pain and went to see a chiropractor in Ireland. He did few adjustments and said my hips not streat..After I cudn't even reach to put chues on my left foot and come back to the same chiropractor.I had MRI scan results with me and he realise problem wasn't my hips-it's bulging discs(L4L5) and mild scoliosis.Chiropractor said will back me where I was"joints is flexibel" how he said and after few adjustments I got very bad pain on my low back and left side,my hip was up.I didn't know whats wrong with me.I went to see many orthopedics.Them didn't even want to help me.My tailbone even was hurt,I had to sit and drive a car on my child's round for swiming.Well after 6 weeks I found a chiropractor in London, who promise to help me(How he was dealing with pelvis problems over 30 years)He did X-rays and said-I have SI joints locking sindrome on my left side pelvis.Another words,my pelvis was locked.I had to stay in London for 3 days.He did manual loosing up adjustments to both sides 3 times and said I'm 80% better. My pain was gone and left side come back to normal, but my right side went up,my pelvis was tilted.
I asked London doctor whats wrong/He said come back I will fix you.he did manual adjustments and I got very bad joints and low back pain and...my pelvis got rotated-right side went forward,left-backward...After that London chiropractor didn't want to see me any more and in my complais just said-I'm just mad about my body...Now my musculers weeekening around my back, nearly completly gone.I have bad pain in my low back(sacrum).I'm geting more rotated every month.I'm doing streches,I went for physio, but in Ireland can't get good one's.Don't even want to help me,just affraid.Doctors only giving pain killers.Orthopedics don't even want to send me for X-ray,just said can't help to me anywhere...I went to my country too,to Lithuania and so 2 neurosurgeons.Them said my scoliosis mild and my back too good for operation.I have to live how I'm now...I send over 300 emails to different doctors, osteopaths, chiropractors to explain what's really happen to me.Why my pelvis got twisted?I got only one good unswer, from chiropractor in California. He said London chiropractors mistake was-he had only treated left side, because left side had locking sindrome.Locking sindrome can't be in both sides.Only in left or in right side. How Californian doctor said-if I be treated only left side and my right side be left alone,I'm be fine untill now.Becouse my right side got tilted and back got unstable,so this reason why my pelvis twisted after joints adjustments...This is my storry:(
I'm still joung woman-44,but my life is gone.I have a child who is 7 years old and I don't know how I will look after him later.
I was very fit person(I'm use to be even a dancer) and now I'm can't even walk streat, because I'm all twisted.I'm spend around 7-8 thousand euros traveling from doctor to doctor and them was only making me worth.
I'm read about SI fusion.Anybody can give to me advise --how I can streating up my pelvis?Maybe operation can back to normal my twisted pelvis?Help me please! Anybody knows good specialists, doctors, neurosurgeons, clinics in my situation.

  • Welcome to Spine Health.........the first thing you need to do is be seen by a spine surgeon. That doesn't mean that you need surgery, but you do need a proper diagnosis and testing done to make sure that the doctors are treating the right condition.

  • Hi I am new to this site. I have had horrible back pain since I can remember. I am 26 years old right now and have quite a few heal issues. But I would like to know if there is a way to fix a tilted pelvis, also what is the root cause of fibromyalgia. I have been recently diagnosed with fibro a little over a year ago after a car wreck. But no broken bones. My body has been in overdrive since then I have been doing physical therapy, chiropractic, myalfiascal release, regular doctor appointment, and my dietitian. I also have type one diabetes. My pain is unreal. And seems like my tilted pelvis can become the worst. Although I have alot of appointments. I still have the back pain my twisted pelvis can be off to over an inch. Is there a way to stop this from happening? I hear so often you are to young to have all this pain and problems. Well I can't help that my age doesn't listen. Lol. My neck and back isn't really shaped like it should be my neck swoops the opposite way and my low back swings out. I'm not sure if that is why my pelvis gets tilted but it makes one leg shorter than the other! I have to take smaller steps when my back is out if I can walk at all. I hope there is help out there for people like us. It also causes pinches nerves and I have extreme skin sensitivity around my hips and have radiated all the way to my face to toes. If my little 2lb dog steps on me sometimes sends me through the roof. I have bumped into things that have caused such pain it has put me to my knees.
