Did anyone have this ?? Its driving me a bit mad !! Apart fron the dryness of my feet which I think is due to the stockings , I'm getting the urge to scratch my area just along where the arches are , I'm wearing sliipers mainly. Did anyone else suffer from this ?? I'm still also getting leg pains but these are not as bad as they used to be !!

  • I've had 5 nerve surgeries in 2 years, but until the last one (fusion - cervical) I had an odd post op reaction. It might help you? About 3 weeks post op I too had megga itchy feet! Mainly the arches, and too sometimes the balls of my feet. A week later (this is gross) *all* the skin on the bottom of my feet came off! Yeah, basically my feet soles shed 1 or 2 layers as though peeling from a sunburn! After that happened, they stopped itching!!

Since then once in a while the bottom of my heels shed a layer - but no itching? The post op meds I was on was Darvocet only. Hopefully yours too will be a fluke and gone in a week or so.

  • Oh thanks for replying !! I'm glad its not just me !! I thought I was going nuts !! My first thoughts was that it was from being strapped to the table during the op but then this would have shown up earlier ??
  • I'm not sure why mine did that. They didn't in surgeries past, and I've had more 'non-nerve/spine' related. For all I know it was my body reacting to all the junk coming out from what the Anesthesiologist put in me! I am going to get a huge deviated septum fixed soon (they put you under for it), and it will be interesting to see if it happens again. That will be at a different hospital though.

My husband was funny cuz here I was in my hard collar alternating folding my knees so I could scratch my stupid foot bottoms! He got such a laugh out of that - glad someone was having fun! (G) Now hand (palm) skin is the same, but had no issues there. Maybe oriental "detox" is right, and it leaves the soles of the feet?
