Hi Guys,
I had a Microdiscectomy on l5-s1 on Oct 19th. I'm kind of concerned on two things and I'm wondering if anyone else has dealt with this. My incision has a very large lump like half the size of a golf ball. I'm a thing person so it's noticeable and my doctor said it is either swelling still or scar tissue already. Anyone have this?? Also I'm noticing my leg pain is a lot worse now and extends down to my toes whereas it never did before. Again the doc said to give it some more time because swelling could just be pushin on the nerve. Any other personal experiances and stories about any of this would be great! Thanks :)

  • my first surgery was a micro and i never had anything like that - the incision was pain free before the steri-strips fell off and there wasn't any lump/swelling at all. Mind you, I had to have the disc re-done a few months later, so ymmv. has the doc actually seen what the incision looks like or is he reassuring you over the phone? i'd want that looked at!
