Hi All,
I am 5 days post ACDF level C5/C6 and doing really well. I did a lot of reading on this site before surgery and got a lot of good ideas on how to cope with the first few days post op so I just want to say thank you to all of you. I had a lumbar discotomy back in January and it took a long time to recover so I was scared going into this surgery. So far, I am glad I did it. I have been able to sleep on my left side for the first time since June!

  • Welcome. I just had fusion on November 3rd. Join us in the November Surgery thread. I am so glad you are doing well. I am too except for pain her and there. Not quite ready to get of meds. Want to take very slow to make sure my recover is 150%.

  • Glad to hear that you are doing well!

  • Hi Angela,
thank you for the reply. I'm struggling with meds too. I just finished the 7.5 oxycodones they had me taking after the surgery. I was taking 2 every 3 hours and got it down to 2 every 4-5 hours but I'm worried that going back to the vicodin I was taking before surgery will not hold the pain. I noticed being much more sore yesturday just sitting upright for several hours.
I'm curious about what they had you taking and did they give you an idea of how long you will be taking meds?
