Swelling in ankles

Well I have made it through 2 weeks of work. The job is a sit down computer job. And I sit in my car for 1 1\2 hrs total for the commute. So I am sitting 10.5 hrs a day...
Last Friday when I took my socks off I couldn't believe it. I have never had my ankles swell like that before ever in my life. You could not see any bone structure.
I was quite freaked out. I laid down, propped my feet higher than my heart. My husband got my blood pressure machine but my b\p was ok. He put my TED hose on that I had from surgery and put cold packs on my feet.

It wasn't pitting edema but it was quite shocking to me.
So by Sunday they were back to normal. Well after work today once again they are swollen but not as bad. I have my TED hose on again. I made sure I got up every 2 hrs and walked around at work today too...cause my back has been very painful and sore since going back.

Anyway..just wondering if anyone else has had this problem after going back to a sit down job after a lumbar fusion. Because my previous job was a sit down one too, but my feet never swelled like this. Obviously the surgery has something to do with it.
