Hello All,

I'm looking for anyone with experience recovering from a laparoscopic fusion. I am looking at this as being a possibility on L3-L4 and L4-L5 next month (seeing the Neurosurgeon on Monday).

How long was the recuperation time and return to work time?

Thanks all,

  • I havnt had mine yet, am having it Dec 13th. I have had L4-5 and L-5S-1 fused. I dont think they can fuse l-5 S-1 That is just what I have understood. I had a PLIF the fist time, now I am having L-2-L-3 and L3-L4 done. Let me know what you find out. Good Luck and I hope I am wrong.
OOPs I see that it isnt L5-S1 so, ignore that. But I will tell you how it goes, if you are after me :)
  • Thanks a lot for the comments and encouragement!. Good luck and it would be great to hear how you make out. This is my first back surgery after months of trying every conservative approach possible.

Had a fresh MRI and CT on Monday as my pics were from March, visited the neurosurgeon today, and a change in plans now. L3-L5 laminectomy, 2 level TLIF L3-L4/L4-L5, and L2-L3 discectomy now schedule. No date yet but it will be soon.

    Very nervous but hopeful.
