Loreal advertisement

The Loreal advertisement in the banner position is choking my browser from loading the page it is on until after the entire animated ad has run. This is very frustrating and a great way to drive people away from any website.

  • I wonder if that is also the reason for the lagging in chat, sometimes it is soooo bad.
  • I have my Firefox (beta) set to block ads, so I don't see what you all are talking about. I do notice the lags in chat however. :)

    PCTF C4 - T2, Laminectomies C5, C6 & C7. Severe Palsy left arm/hand.
  • Use the updated Firefox, it also has spell check embedded in the system.
  • Thanks for the input everyone. I DO USE the latest updated version of Firefox. For some reason though, the new ad was choking things. It has since been removed and things are back to normal. I think one of the developers must have been experimenting last night.

My other concern and additional reason for posting this here, is that not everyone has a decent browser and is a well known fact that people refuse to stay on any website that is slow to load.

  • You could well be right, about someone experimenting.

Also - if the server for the ads - is on a bad connection, or written badly, it can hog resources and clog things up. I have seen that with a few ads, in the last month. Some flash ones have been just viscous on old laptops.
