My PC doctor has been refilling my RX's for Percocet for approx 8 months. I have 3 herniated discs and am waiting for surgery in Feb. I recently called for a refill and he told me in order to get the refill he wants me to go to the lab and get a Urinalysis done. Does anyone know why this would be the case?

My pain doctor does a urine test every three months for two things, one that I am taking the medication as prescribed along with a complete drug screen. He is also checking kidney and liver functions.
  • Like Susan said,...being sure you are taking your meds as prescribed, and too kidney and liver function depending on what medications they have you on. Hopefully, all will work out well. :)
