Good Day/Bad Day

BAD DAY: Well as mostly everyone knows I go in for the first surgery to get 2 SCS's placed in my thoracic and then again on the 23rd of Feb for the Lumbar one.
Well my specialist phoned me this afternoon to tell me that I have to spend at least 4 days in the hospital afterwards and here I was thinking I could go home the nextday..

GOOD DAY: My wheelcair that the Government paid for was delivered today so at least I can get out a bit more now.

  • Hi Shelly, Too bad that you need to stay in hospital for 4 days. This way though the docs can monitor you and make sure that everything is working the way it should be. Will hopefully save you going back and forth if there should be a problem. I wish kind, thoughtfull staff for you while you are there. =D> for the wheelchair. That is great news. You will now how more freedom to get out and about.

  • Thinking of you and hoping that you are feeling as calm as possible. You are so used to surgery now, but I bet it still feels scary.

Try to think of the time in hospital as a kick start to your healing without having to worry about things that need doing at home. It will be good for your post surgery pain control too.

Once you are out and home again, you have a new toy (wheelchair) that will mean you can get out and about.

Don't get stuck in the mud!!! How is the clean-up from the floods going?

I'll be looking forward to hearing from you when you can and will keep thinking of and praying for you.

  • Shelley, my fellow thoracic SCS friend, I am so hoping all went well for you...

    miss talking to you
