Spinal Decompression

Has anyone had good results with spinal decompression? I was diagnosed with DDD at C5 and C6 with anterior and posterior bony spurs, but I was wondering if spinal decompression would help with "biforminal narrowing due to uncovertable hypertrophy"? I have excess cartilage growth that's impinging on the nerves.

  • See also under the same subject the question made by
JLGACC on January 17th and answers.

  • I have just learned the obvious but I think important to share.
Each case is different and what is good for one can bring harm to another.
In my particular case, I was excited with the idea of cervical traction due to a research I read.
Talking to the NS, he showed me the high risks involved and I am forbidden by him to take this direction.
As I was advised by colleagues in this forum, talk to your doctor, only he-she can say if this alternative treatment can be applied to your case..
  • Thank you for posting your finds! My parents both swear by spinal decompression and have been telling me to go. I have not gone yet because of uncertainty. Now I am seriously not going to go unless the neurosurgeon suggests it.

  • As you see I was excited with the idea initially.
We have to hold our expectations and listen to the specialists, the doctors.
Although I still have certain pain I am glad that my situation did not become worse as it could happened if I had not followed all advises.

    All the best.
