Hello all.

I am curious what information anyone here can give me as far as whether Type 2 Diabetes can affect the success of spinal fusion, cervical? I have heard it is almost worse than being a smoker. Has anyone else heard that?

Does anyone here have Type 2 Diabetes who has also had spinal fusion? If so would you mind saying how it went or is going....how long after surgery did you have a full bony bridge, were there any complications that were suggested that may be as a result of any meds or condition you might have, such as Type 2 etc etc etc?

In general, I would also like to hear from anyone.... what your opinions are, or the opinion's of your doctor's, regarding what behavioral issues or food/dietary/supplement/vitamin intake etc etc etc there are that might negatively affect the chances of a successful cervical fusion. Or slow down the process of fusing etc etc.

Unqualified opinions only, of course. ;0)
