I noticed a difference right away with the nerve pain although it doesn't do anything for the mechanical pain. Getting the nerve down some was a God send. But like all of the others I've tried, has side effects. The big difference is with the Lyrica, I think I may be able to live with the side effects. All of the others that I've tried over the years I pretty much knew right off the bat. That I couldn't handle the side effects. And I really thought that out of all of the nerve meds. there are. They just don't make one that will work for me.
I started out with 50 mg. twice a day. And I got relief but it wore off long before it was time to take the bedtime dose. So we upped it to 50 mg. 3 times a day. That seamed to work alright but the side effects were more.
Then it seemed that it wasn't working as well as it did at first. So we upped it to 100 mg. in the morn. 50 mg. in the afternoon and 50 mg. at night. That seems to be working a little better. But the side effects have multiplied. My vision is way off, I feel weird, and I'm dizzy, my balance is off, and I'm very tired most of the time.
My fear is that I won't be able to adjust to this increase. And what if I have to increase the dosage more? This drug is taking care of over 50% of the nerve pain. And with all of the surgeries that I've had. This drug is a God send to me! So I just hope it works out for me. And I can get past the side effects.
