chronic back pain

Hi everyone,

Had 30years of back pain. Had fusion, lamanectomy and the works done to try and alleviate pain. Nothing worked.

Hoping to talk to someone that has had peripheral nerve field stimulator as last hope.
Would like to hear experiences post PNFS


  • i am i5 years down the back pain route had laminectomy/discectomy /10 years of various pain clinics and needles and other painful procedures but still in awful pain .i am due sometime this year to have a triple level ALIF fusion .but i have been told that there are no guarantees .i am on loads of powerful painkillers {oxycontin} but still in pain .so my friend you are not on your own ..my advice is .just do what you can when you can ..i know that's easier said than done .i swim when i can ..but i have gone for a 5 times a week one mile a time to a few lengths maybe once a week ! i know how you feel pain robs you of so much i am only 44 and i have lost 15 years of my life to an invisible illness because on the outside i look ok {but on the inside i am dying!}...i am here to talk to if you want
    1997 laminectomy
    2007 repeat laminectomy and discectomy L4/L5
    2011 ALIF {L4/L5/S1}
    2012 ? bowel problems .still under investigation
    2014 bladder operation may 19th 2014
  • If you talking about a SCS unit I have one now for 8 months It help me get back about 40 % of my life back. Just remember it not a cure. I know a few that got back 80% of their life back And A few That it didn't help out.
    But you will know how much it help by doing test
