SO Stiff!

I am 2 weeks post op TLIF and I am so stiff! I expected pain but man this stiffness is driving me crazy, especially when I first wake up. Also, I feel like I am walking around like a pregnant woman the way my back is arched when I walk. Has anyone felt this way? This little girl actually asked me when my baby was coming! Anytime I try to straighten or walk more upright I nearly fall over. Is this a normal experience. I am so embarrassed that I look huge!

  • Probably after some PT that will subside somewhat. I have a huge arch to my lower back and makes it look like I have more bootie than what ..well I actually do have substantial bootie (lol), but with the curve it's just like an exclamation point has been added for emphasis. Hopefully when you start PT you can get your posture worked out before it becomes habitual. Does your stiffness go away after about an hour or two? I'm very stiff too, but if you can force yourself into the shower asap and move around a little it should loosen that up. I can not get into the shower for one to two hrs., but some people can and when I do it really does help.
Take care and I hope you feel better soon.
