Monday I will trial the BS SCS for my cervical and thoracic. The first trial of a different brand, last summer, didn't go so well. I am lucky my insurance will let me try another brand. I hope it helps! I will probably be here looking for support and full of ?'s. The first one I have is:
I live about 1 hour from the clinic, a large university clinic. I will need to go there 2X after the initial implant. Could you or would you drive 15 miles then take public transport to the clinic and back. Or would you be able to drive 40 miles by yourself? Or you must have someone take you and not drive at all? Any input would be appreciated.
Severe DDD. Klippel Feil Deformity. Cervical Foraminatomy that turned into Lamy. I have tried so many treatments, therapy's and medications.

  • I was able to ride in a car and on public transportation, the 4th day after my initial implant. It wasn't pain free, but it wasn't intolerable either.

  • I was allowed to drive two days after my trial stimulator - they said I had to have someone drive me home from the procedure or they wouldn't do it. Mine was done in my doctor's office.

When the actual surgical procedure was done, I was allowed to drive one or two weeks after ....can't remember which (and frankly didn't feel like it before that).
