Swelling of feet

I have noticed that my right foot has been swelling fairly frequently since surgery. it does happen after I have been up and around (shopping, cleaning, standing outside talking to the neighbors) Today I noticed it after making cupcakes and icing. It was about 2 hours total, broken into 1 hour earlier in the day and 1 hour this evening. This same foot had extreme swelling in the hospital and they just said it was nothing to worry about. Since then, every two or three days I have to sit down and put my feet up to relieve the swelling. I dont go back to my ortho until the end of April. Is this something I should call him about?
