Dr. switched my zanaflex to diazepam

Had my appointment with my pain management dr. She took me off my zanaflex because my liver count was high. Went 3 months with only my oxycodone 10/325. Went for my follow up on Tuesday. I told her that I am still having extrem pain in my leg. {It feels like a charlie horse thats starts at my butt check all the way down to my calf muscle.} Anyway she prescribed diazepam 10mg. I was really hoping that this med would work. I feel tired all the time. I am to take one every 12 hours.
I work in a male prison and have to be alert at all times. This med works but, I'm kinda out of it and don't like how it makes me feel. I have thought about cutting it in half, but don't know if its a time release med. If anyone out there has some suggestions I am open to anything at this point. THanks
