can anyone tell me how long they consider postop and treat you with pain med, till they send you to a pain clinic or does it vary in your progress?ty if you can help

  • Raymond,

I think it varies by surgeon. Mine told me straight up front he would treat me for pain and follow up for 90 days and then farm me out. I would ask your doc's nurse what their "rules" are.

    Hope that helps!
  • im little past my 90 days ,but he doesnt know how bad,, my left leg and foot is hurting me..long road to recovery i guess,,ty for your reply
  • Wow, my doctor doesn't do that. That would make me angry if I was farmed out!
  • I was a year post-op before my surgeon sent me to pain management. When I left his office he made sure to let me know he was my doctor for life. If I had any problems I could call and he would treat me. After several months in pain management with no progress and many cancelled appointments I called my surgeon. I am now back under his care. It appears I am going to have my hardware removed, pending all the test results come back the way he expects. He said no matter what he would continue to treat me.
