Scheduled my fusion...

Talked to my neurosurgeon this afternoon and we both agreed it's time to schedule a fusion. So I have a TLIF set for May 19th. The fusion will be at L4-L5, cage with graft from me (forgot to ask which part of me it comes from) as well as the genetically engineered protein, titanium rods and screws.

One more month of this pain hell and I should be on my way back to life. I have great confidence in my surgeons and I was taken care of very well the last time I was in the hospital, so things are looking up. It is a real relief to have a surgery date set.

  • welcome to spine health,,best to you on good recovery.keep us posted on your progress,
  • i also had a simaliar surgary, hope you have a better recovery then i did! everyone heals differant, just remember to do as the dr says!

    good luck
  • I found once I had my surgery date set, I was calmer and it felt good that at long last I was going to get relief from the 24/7 pain. It all worked out for me and I enjoy life now and can do most things that I want to.

Keep as busy as you can during this next month and go out to dinner or do something that you've been wanting to do for a while. For us girls, we like retail therapy

Wishing you the very best for your surgery and recovery, and looking forward to hearing how it went.

  • Welcome to spine health. Congrats on getting a date set for your fusion (I am still waiting :( )
Wishing you all the best, and hope that this brings much needed pain relief to you.

I agree with Trish to do something special for yourself leading up to the surgery.

When you are on the other side, take it easy and listen to restrictions. Please try to keep us all updated before and after, when you are able.

    All the best!
