12 week mark

Yesterday was 12 weeks since my 360 fusion. I had xrays today that showed bone growth. Doctor said everything looks great. I still have pain, numbness, tingling, etc. He said that could take a year or longer to resolve. I basically have no restrictions any more, other than no heavy lifting (such as a couch...that was his example)and no running ever again. This really saddened me as I love to run and have been anxious to get back into it this summer. He said biking, swimming, walking, elliptical, stairstepper are all good choices. Not my idea of fun, but I guess it'll have to do. I can't say I feel that the surgery was a success just yet. Once the nerves heal, then I will be able to tell.

  • Great news on having bone growth starting! I hope that you will start to get some pain relief now as well.Do you notice a difference in your pain levels, than prior to surgery or even a few weeks ago?

Please be careful as you return to activities.I understand how you feel regarding running. I too used to be very active, and although I haven't had my surgery yet, and am only walking short distances, I too will miss that level of activity afterward.

I figure I will have to just start a new type of activity after...maybe yoga, swimming etc. Hope that you too can find something you enjoy.

Sending you healing, fusing vibes your way!
