hello there, i'm new at this forum. i need some opinions/advise from others who are actually going through and had gone through my situation. I have a herniated disk on my L5. This has been going on for almost a year due to pregnancy. The only treatment i've had was taking the 6 day steroid pills. It helped a lot but the pain came back. My neurosurgeon recommended surgery. He didnt even recommend other treatments. I do plan on getting a second opinion.
I have thought about taking the steroid shots. How long does the procedue take? Is it painful? How soon will it take effect? And how long will it last? Looking forward to hear your comments. Thanks :-)
