I was subscribed Lyrica for nerve pain relief after having c/6-c/7 fusion Surgery. 13 days into the medication, I had a severe side affect, that almost killed me. If, it wasn't for the first responders, I would not be here right now. My throat closed up on me and I could not breath or talk, I was given oxygen on the way their and then given an Ephrinen Shot that allowed me to be breathe and talk again. I have never been allergic to anything in my life. I went to see an allergy specialist and she was 99.9% positive it was the drug Lyrica. I passed all the other test administrated to me. She reported it to the FDA and I filled a report with Pfizer.

This is a very dangerous drug and should be pulled from the market.

I had to immediately go off the drug and I experienced severe depression and suicidal thoughts. If you are on the this drug, read the very fine print of the side effects.

  • i am glad you made it threw your reaction to lyrica . yes i think it is a dangerous drug but so is ibuprofen, aspirin, and for me any kind of patch med, and tramadol .the allergy specialist tested me for allergins with the true test patch test. i had a reaction to the test patch not the allergins" if i had left it on for a few more hours i would have been like you or at least dealing with S.J.S.
the doc,s have given me a EpiPen to keep with my meds just in case i have a bad reaction to some med i take.
YES if you have a bad reaction to a med like me i was pist the first time -with a simple Lidoderm Patch it all most killed me. and all my skin fell off not fun.
but i know lots of people love them and have used them for years.
like lyrica meany people on hear have used it for years with no problems. i have started lyrica yes i do not like the bad side effects but not left with much of an alternative for nerve pain it will have to do. yes i have tried Neurontin for 3 months and will never use it again. and if people read all the side effects of most meds they would probably not take them as much if at all.
when i was younger much younger my neighbors kid died from a cold med =over the counter safe one
