weird issues after surgery

I had a thoracic laminectomy with fusion done roughly 9 months ago. Afterwards I noticed some hard, painful lumps one on each side of my scar. Since then I have also developed an odd indentation above the scar, and as of yesterday, a lump right in the middle of my scar. What could they be? I have had constant pain since surgery(well since I suffered the injury actually), which has not lessened. I was aware before I had the surgery that I still have damaged thoracic and lumbar discs, so the pain could simply be from those. The lumps worry me though. Any help? Tips?

  • not sure but the best advice I can give is to call your doctor. It could be scar tissue but I had 2 microdiscectomies through the same incision and I don't have any strange lumps.
  • Are the lumps hot or red? You may be "spitting" stitches or maybe have an infected stitch sinus. Or they could be harmless.
  • I was going to say dissolving stitches until I saw 9 months post op...they should be dissolved by now...I'm going with both the above and ask if they are red or hot...or do you have fever...do the bumps themselves hurt...or just around them...and to call your MD:) Hope they get you all fixed up...
