Hi, I have been reading on the site for awhile and decided to join! I am a nurse that works 12 hours shifts, mostly on my feet. A year ago I had an anterior cervical diskectomy at two levels, and was back to work in six weeks. Easy surgery , easy recovery.
At this time I have lumbar issues, and am not jumping into surgery. I get steroid injections 3 times a year. I survive on lidoderm patces, tens unit and lortab.
I will be looking at forums on back surgery. My last MRI shows severe stenosis at L4-L5 with sponylolisthesis and ligamentum hypertrophy. L-5-S1 central extrusion.
By the time I walk to my car in the morning I am crying. My pain mgmt clinic does not believe in much pain meds.
I am happy to be a part of the community. My life is about nursing, and I never want to stop doing it!!
