I am new here on this forum but no stranger to SI joint pain. In 2005 I was diagnosed with spondylolithesis by a neurologist. She suggested a l3-l5 laminectomy with decompression and spinal fusion. At the time I was only aware of spinal stenosis and sciatica in my right leg. Not really knowing what I was getting myself into I jumped at the chance to be rid of my pain!
I never have been pain free since my surgery although the sciatica was gone. Now here I am in 2011 and in the worst pain of my life. I am seeing a pain management doctor and he says there is nothing left for me to do but get a pain pump. I am not a candidate for nerve ablation because I have hardware in my back. I've done the shots which work for me but only for 2 weeks at the most. I am so tired of the pain and missing out on so much of life. I'm 58 yrs. old and so limited in what I can and can't do.
Now I'm wondering if the pain pump is an answer for me. I have done the trial for spinal stimulator and decided it wasn't for me. I welcome any questions and suggestions. I'm feeling really desperate.
