Went for second opinion at UPenn. All went well. Loved the doctor. He is recommending the same surgery as the first doctor, however, he specializes in the thoracic spine. He really took his time with me and explained everything in detail. He wants to do a lumbar MRI before the surgery so that he can use that to make sure he operates on the right levels. He agreed with going though the back. He said he'd do the surgery on a wednesday and I'd stay in the hospital until Friday. No date set yet. Have to get the MRI done first. So, I'm getting the surgery done at UPenn.

  • So happy for you that you went for this second opinion. Nice that he is recomending the same surgery ( so you don't need to decide which is better for you, if different surgery was sugested)

It kind of solidifies things for you. You sound like you have a lot of confidence in this doctor and that is huge.

Wishing you all the best! You are on your way to a whole new you!

  • Kim,

2nd, 3rd, 4th etc., opinions - whatever you need to feel confident and comfortable. I am glad too see they both came to the same surgical results. But it sounds like you "click" more with this second surgeon more.

Glad to see you and he are a good fit. Please keep us posted on how it goes. :)

  • Great Kim.

I am really glad you did the second opinion.

  • That's awesome Kim, I'm so glad that you are happy with this surgeon! I hope that he can pull through for you, and you get in quickly!
