pain and weather

Im having this odd tension frommuy neck going up to my head,
I am post op two weeks.Im on flexril for a muscle relaxer.I also take valium.
I have to do some things that require lifting... can this be whats causing it?

Im also having a soreness from what i think is my incicion.

It sbeen very humid to day and then it rained. Can weather cause thease falrups or is that just urban legends,.Or can the cervical collor cause stifness it and of itself.

  • I am guessing at two weeks out your suffering from tight muscles, and yes the collar can affect that. One reason they only like to use the collar as long as they have to, as it weakens your muscles. I am sure if your lifting stuff it is not helping any at all. My lift weight following my surgeries for 3 months was nothing more than a gallon of milk, which is 8lbs. Also be sure your not bending over, you need to bend at the knees. If your bending over you are putting undo stress on the fusion and the muscles. When you go for your post op appointment you can ask about some massage therapy, possibly.

    Weather does play a role sometimes, but for me it is the barometric pressure. The pain doesn't really happen during the rain but rather before it starts, when the air pressure is changing. Like I said in another post you might need to check on a different muscle relaxer.
