Around one year ago I had ADR at C5/6, all there is fine. Just before my operation I started to get pain in my lower back, I had an MRI and CT which showed some wear to L5/s1 and the 2 discs above but they say it is not the source of the pain. I also had a discogram which was negative. Around 6 months later I started to get bad pain in my hips, both sides. It is a sharp stabbing pain. I also get cramp in my legs, hips and calfs. My legs feel heavy and now my left hip pops all the time when I raise my leg. My consultant cannot find the problem. To add to this and I dont know if this is relevant, I get bad cramp in my forearms when I flex my wrist back, plus I have 2 lumps in my forearm. All in all I am concerned they cannot find the problem! I dont know if this is my lower back or my hips or a more widespread problem.

  • Hi there,

Have you considered visiting a doctor that specializes in hips? It could be that you actually have hip problems. I'm not suggesting partial hip replacement but if your hips are hurting, they can cause pain when walking, etc.

My Dad had a terrible time with his hip and finally realized it was not his back at all but his hip.

  • I have thought that, my surgeon is a spine specialist. I have thought it may be my hips or SI Joint, laberal tear etc. I am due some SIJ injections, hopefully that will show more information. I think as I am only 36 they cannot beleive I would have hip problems on top of my neck which they have already done adr.
