I am a bit scared

So I am 10 days post op. Everything has been going great up until a couple days ago. I was having a bit of discomfort just lying on my back so I put on my stomach binder and placed a pillow between my legs, behind, and in front of my back so I could lay on my side. This helped tremendously until I woke up. So I went back to trying to sleep on my back. I took it very easy yesterday minimal walking ans sitting,I just tried to relax. However before going to bed last night I started to feel a strong ache in both legs when walking to restroom about a 15 foot distance. Then I lied back down and had pain in my low back same as before surgery but worse and it hurts all the way down in my left leg. At first I kept telling myself it's just my body telling me to take it easy and relax and go to bed. But I woke up this morning eight hours after taking meds feeling the same. I am so scared right now any advice would be so very appreciated.

  • What surgery did you have? There are a lot of different pains and feelings you will have after surgery.. I just had ACDF (cervical fusion) C4-c5 and I have been having a lot of pain even in my low back, I think and hope it is just everything re adjusting. If you get really worried about it, you can always call the doctor.

Another surgery in the near future. I am 26 years old.

Current Meds- Norco 7.5/325, Cymbalta 60mg, Gabapentin, Adderall 20mg
  • I had alif l5-s1 and prodisc between l4 and l5. Pain meds are helping withe pain but boy do I feel it if I go to long between meds.
  • Your post sounds exactly how I am feeling. I am 12 days post op and getting discouraged. I too still have bad lower back, butt, hip and leg pain. My legs also feel so weak. I have been sleeping on my sides and have awful hip pain when up after lying down (not comfortable on my back at all either) My pain is just as bad or worse than pre op, and still taking all the same meds.

We are still early out of surgery,it's hard, but we have to hang in there. Maybe when you call the doctor on Monday about your prescription (other post) you can let them know how you are feeling.

Take care and I hope you get some more relief today

And I am so sorry you aren't feeling well either. I know all about feeling discouraged. Try to hang in there and hopefully this is just one stupid bump in the road.

The smiley has more hair than I do though. Lol
