I had a 2 level axialif fusion in January 2011. Since then I was doing good and the pain was getting better untill about 6 weeks post op, when it started going downhill. Leg pain didnt get worse but pain in my spine and hips became unbearable. My surgeon wants to do a laminectomy but says he cannot see anything on nerve test or MRI. Has anyone else had any problems like this?

  • I had a L4-S1 fusion in late January. Immediately felt some relief and improvement. However, in mid April I began to suffer from leg pain (both legs down the backs of them) and radicular pain in my lower spine. My surgeon ordered an MRI - indicated an area of swelling in the spine. He then gave me a steroid pack - no results. Next we tried neurontin - no results. I am waiting insurance company approval for a nerve conductivity test to locate source of pain.
  • yes i too had neurontin 1800mg/day with no pain help but felt really disconnected all the time and had an epidural with no relief.
