HI...I'm new and panicking as I'm 11 weeks from acdf and still have burning tight feeling between shoulder blades. Should this be gone by now...seems like most people are much better by 11 weeks...I had c7t1 surgery....burning increases when I walk...I have to keep my left hand in my pocket..thank you for any responses.

  • I am 6 weeks post op and I still get A LOT of burning in my upper back after any exercise. I am also having pain in my lower back but I am not sure if that is related to acdf. I heard the longer you had symptoms prior to surgery the longer they will stay after. Have you talked to your surgeon? I am going to ask mine during my follow up on mon.
    ACDF C4-5 June 23rd, 2011

Another surgery in the near future. I am 26 years old.

Current Meds- Norco 7.5/325, Cymbalta 60mg, Gabapentin, Adderall 20mg
  • Thanks for your response...If you don't mind I'd love to hear your surgeon's response to reason for burn tight feeling when you go on Monday. Your low back might be feeling the difference in your posture now. thanks for your help and good luck.
  • The feelings you are having are very normal during the recovery period. I am just about 9 months post of a 2 level ACDF. My best advice is to keep a notebook of all of your symptoms and what you were doing before it happened and what medication you may take to help the pain or discomfort. If yo uhave any specific questions feel free to ask. Have a pain free weekend. :)
