Went to the suregon who did my fusion one year ago (at the l5-s1 level) and he wants to deal with the formidal spinal stenosis that formed so very quickly by doing another fusion right above the first and more nerve decompression. I sense a bit of a risk. I wonder how all this stenosis appeared in just one year (it pretty exteme, makes my left thigh, calf, foot ache most of the time) and impacts how I can walk.I did not have any issues walking before my fusion. This doctor says I will never work again (I am only 56) I will never be off pain meds and I always will have pain.I see a neurosuregon on Aug 23 for a second opinion as this one was pretty bleak.

  • I hope you are able to get the information you need from the neurosurgeon. Go loaded with whatever questions you can think of. Also, there is pain and there is PAIN. I hope that at least you can get things down to pain, if not better.

Let us know how you're doing.
