I would just like to introduce myself. I am from Regina Saskatchewan Canada.
I had a spinal fusion surgery of L3,4 and 5 eight weeks ago. I have been diagnosed with degenerative disc disease and the next surgery i am awaiting is on my neck from the first disc to the sixth.
I must say that after my recent surgery I was doing quite well after the first four weeks until about two weeks ago, at that time I made a small reach for something and felt a pop in my back with excruciating pain. I could not move for several minutes but after a few minutes the pain subsided. The problem is that since then everyday is worse than the last.
The pain has become increasingly unbearable and the oxycodone I have been taking for pain does not come close to controlling it and then last night I began experiencing excruciating electrrical shocks that pulsated across my entire back. I have been wearing a brace since surgery and was at the point where I did not wear it in the house, only when I went out, however now I cant walk at all, with it off. My legs are like lead and brace or no can only walk half a block before my legs feel like lead. At times I find it difficult to even lift my arms and I feel like my chest is being crushed.
I have tried to get in to see my Dr. but cannot do so for a couple more days but I am beginning to panic.
When I walk it feels like something is moving around in my back however a friend who had the same surgery told me that I would not be able to move if something had let go in my back but I am becoming increasingly worried,
