microdiscectomy and conjoined nerve endings

I had a microdiscectomy July 26, L5-S1. I woke up to pain worse than before surgery in my calf and foot. The pain before was in the back of my thigh to my butt, which is gone now. Three weeks later the calf/foot pain is better, but I am still worse than before surgery. Before surgery I could stand for 10 minutes and walk for 30 minutes. Now it's 5 standing and about 7 walking. The pain from standing/walking is in my lower back and is disabling. The doctor said something about being surprised finding conjoined nerve endings that were not shown on any pictures.
