First of all, I know you are NOT doctors and I already have doctors involved with this. But I feel that I have been too trusting with docs and I'd rather have your suggestions with how to proceed with my CT scan results. I had a L4-L5 fusion 3 years ago and the excrutiating pain has never gone away. My operating doc said I must have "epidural lesions" and it was too bad, so sad, basically. 3 mri's have not noted any epidural lesions! 3 months after surgery I was referred to pain management where I have been, since. My pain mgmt doc recommended I get a neuro's opinion. Here we go with the CT scan that I ASKED that the neuro order since I hadn't had one since surgery!! At least the neuro group listened!
Findings: No hardware fractures. Pedicle screws and rods intact. No displacement of nerve roots.
Impression: 1) Advanced loss of disc space L2-3 and L3-4. Both levels demonstrate moderate broad disc bulge. Moderate foraminal narrowing suspected. Some crowding of the nerve roots of the cauda equina appears present.
2) Degenerative changes at L2-3 and L3-4. Foraminal narrowing and crowding of the nerve roots of the cauda equina at this level is possible.
So, any of you have similar findings and if so, how did you cope???? Did you have revision surgery????? If so, what was the outcome.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me! I am a bit shocked at these findings after 3 years of asking for help and my operating doc ignoring me!!! A "pox" on him for being so impersonal!!!!!
